Types O and A occurred intermittently between 1931 to 1973 (Nyamsuren et al., 2006). In the early 1960s, an outbreak of FMDV killed large numbers of gazelles in Mongolia’s Eastern Steppe (Sokolov and Lushchekina, 1997)
